Friday Harbor - A one day getaway
Kayaking with Orcas in the morning, and an afternoon picnic at the marina.  Friday Harbor is one place in the San Juans, worth a visit. The San Juan Islands, are located in NorthWest Washington State, between Seattle and Vancouver Island.  Friday Harbor, is a sleepy harbor town, located on San Juan Island.
With its charm and island atmosphere, it is surrounded by some of the most scenic wilderness in the Pacific Northwest.  Visiting the islands by seaplane, might just be one of the most memorable trips ever.

Getting there by Seaplane
The seaplane flight is an easy trip from Lake Union to Friday Harbor.  It is the fastest way to get to the islands, and leaves visitors with stunning memories and views of downtown Seattle, the Puget Sound and Vancouver Island.  Because they can operate safely over water, seaplanes fly relatively low. Views from a 1000ft over these coastlines are truly spectacular.

After a short 30 minute flight, arriving into Friday Harbor Marina, by seaplane, might just be the highlight of the day.   Kayak operators meet guests at the marina for guided tours. A typical trip only takes a few hours, and visitors are left with memories of a lifetime - being up close to Killer Whale pods.   Easy access to wilderness, makes these islands some of the best kept secrets of the Pacific Northwest.
After the morning’s activities, a stop at a  coffee  shop, street cafe or fine dining restaurant, is a must, before returning home.  Because of the natural surroundings, even in the small village of Friday Harbor, visitors never feel crowded.

Have a short weekend in Seattle?  Make the next visit, a day trip to remember, and take that seaplane flight to Friday Harbor, for a day trip to remember.
